FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: What's the difference between the in-person and online formats?

A: In-person workshops (2.5-3 hours) include full movement activities, hands-on game practice, and face-to-face role plays, the most effective format for this interactive content. Online workshops (2-2.5 hours via Zoom) are adapted for virtual delivery with breakout rooms, chat-based activities, and modified practice sessions. Both formats cover the same core content and provide PD certificates.

Q: What if I can't attend after I register?

A: You can transfer your registration to another workshop date (up to 48 hours before the session). If you need to cancel, we offer a refund minus a $15 processing fee if requested 7+ days before the workshop.

Q: Do I get a recording if I can't make the full session?

A: You must attend the full live session to receive your PD certificate. Recordings are not provided, as the interactive component is essential to the learning. If you need to miss a session, you can transfer to a future date.

Q: Can I bring my whole team?

A: Yes! Each person needs to register individually for public workshops to receive their own certificate. For teams of 20+, consider booking a private group session at your center ($1,250 flat rate) — this is more cost-effective and allows custom scheduling and format selection.

Q: I'm not in Calgary — can I still participate?

A: Absolutely. Online workshops are open to ECEs anywhere in Alberta. In-person workshops are typically held in the Calgary/Cochrane area, but we can travel to your centre for group bookings. Your PD funding eligibility depends on your centre's location and funding source.

Q: I work with both toddlers AND school-age kids. Which workshop should I take?

A: Great question! The Ages 0-6 workshop focuses on serve and return, co-regulation, and play-based games for toddler/preschool challenges (tantrums, transitions, basic self-regulation). The Ages 6-12 workshop addresses afterschool care challenges (impulse control, peer conflict, team dynamics, edutainment techniques). If you regularly work with both age ranges, we offer a bundle price that gives you comprehensive tools across development. Email us if you're unsure which fits best!

Q: What if the tools don't work with my kids?

A: All participants receive 30 days of email support post-workshop for troubleshooting. No tool works 100% of the time with 100% of kids — we teach you how to adapt strategies and when to try different approaches. The workshop focuses on principles (understanding WHY behaviours happen) so you can problem-solve in the moment, not just follow scripts.

Q: Is this just theory or will I get actual activities?

A: You'll get both. The neuroscience foundation helps you understand WHY tools work (so you can adapt them to your specific kids). The activities and strategies are concrete and ready to use immediately. You'll leave with game instructions, scenario guides, regulation techniques, and action plans you can implement tomorrow.

Q: How long is the workshop? I see different times listed.
A: Ages 0-6: 2.5 hours in-person OR 2-2.5 hours online. Ages 6-12: 2.5-3 hours in-person OR 2-2.5 hours online. The in-person format for Ages 6-12 is slightly longer to accommodate the team-building and edutainment activities that work best face-to-face.

Q: How do I know this will be worth $75?
A: Fair question. Here's what past participants report: "Best PD in years," staff using tools the very next day, reduced stress/burnout, improved team communication. You'll receive 2.5-3 hours of interactive training, a comprehensive resource toolkit, 30 days of follow-up support, AND PD credits you can submit for reimbursement. If you're skeptical, check out the testimonials above from other ECEs and directors who felt the same way before attending.

Q: What's your refund policy?
A: Full refund (minus $15 processing fee) if you cancel 7+ days before the workshop. Within 7 days of the workshop, you can transfer to a future date instead of canceling. No refunds for no-shows, but you can transfer to another date if you contact us within 24 hours.

Q: Will this address MY stress and burnout, or just give me more tools for kids?

A: Both. This workshop is unique because it addresses educator wellbeing alongside child strategies. You'll learn to recognize when YOUR executive function is depleted (and why that matters), practice micro-regulation techniques that fit into your actual workday, and understand how team dynamics impact everyone's capacity.

This isn't "one more thing to do". It's understanding why the work is so hard and how to make it more sustainable.

Why This Training Is So Different

Most professional development gives you theory and sends you home.

This workshop gives you tools you can use tomorrow with the kids who challenge you most.

It respects that you already know how to do your job — and gives you brain-based strategies that make that job more sustainable.

What that means practically:

✅ Dual focus on children AND educators: You can't regulate kids when YOU'RE dysregulated. We address both.

✅ No condescension: This training honours the sophisticated work ECEs already do

✅ No fluff: We get straight to what works, with hands-on practice and real scenarios

No homework: You implement what makes sense for YOUR kids, on YOUR timeline

✅ No judgment: Challenging behaviours aren't your fault; they're brain development in action

✅ Team culture addressed: Most PD ignores the interpersonal dynamics that make or break programs. We tackle them head-on.

✅ Evidence-based and accessible: Research-backed content delivered in plain language.

Your staff will leave:

  • More regulated (not more exhausted)

  • More confident (not more overwhelmed).

  • With practical tools (not just more information)

  • Feeling supported as professionals (not judged or inadequate)
