FAQ: INDIVIDUAL SESSIONS

Is this therapy?

No. Individual skill-building coaching sessions are not therapy, counselling, or an assessment. It focuses on practical skill-building, regulation, and strategies for everyday life.

Do I need a diagnosis?
No diagnosis is required. Individual sessions are appropriate for neurodivergent and neurotypical children, teens, and adults.

Is this only for parents?

No. Individual sessions are available for:

  • Kids and teens

  • Parents

  • Adults without children

You do not need to be a parent to access support.

How is this different from The Mindset Lab?

The Mindset Lab is a small-group, play-based program for kids and teens. Individual sessions are one-to-one and tailored to the person attending, whether that is a child, parent, or adult.

How many sessions do I need?

There is no fixed number. We typically recommend at least 4-6 weeks in order to apply practice and see noticeable improvement. Some come for short-term support during a challenging period. Others continue longer for ongoing skill practice. You decide what feels right.

What does a session look like?

Sessions may include conversation, movement, reflection, and practical exercises, adapted to age, comfort, and goals. Nothing is forced. Everything is responsive.

Is this a long-term commitment?
No. There are no contracts or required minimums beyond the 4 or 6 week package selected.

How do I get started?

Start with a short consult. This gives space to ask questions, clarify goals, and decide on next steps. We're happy to refer you to other professionals based on conversations as well.
