About the event
You're not just reading a book. You're becoming its curator.
Every great book has a whole world hiding behind the words, the town nobody describes fully, the workshop where the gadgets get built, the forest where the real danger lives.
Your job is to pull that world out of the pages and build it for real. Pick your book. Pick your partner. Then spend six weeks turning a story into something you can actually stand in front of and say, I made this world.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
● Choose a book from a shelf curated just for this program, ones with worlds worth building: survival islands, cartoon detective cities, graphic-novel adventures, ancient ruins, and more.
● Pair up with a partner and read it together, trading theories and favourite moments as you go.
● Sketch and plan the one scene or corner of that world you want to bring to life.
● Build it with real materials, cardboard, paint, loose parts, whatever the vision calls for.
● Present your finished world at The Showcase, a celebration night for family and the Found community.
WHY THIS IS DIFFERENT
● Nobody works alone. Every pair reads, plans, and builds together, so there's always someone in it with you.
● It's not a book report. There's no book report, no worksheet, no reading log. You build something you'd actually want to show people.
● Everyone gets a win. Fast readers go deeper on their build. Kids who find reading harder get a partner and a project that never asks them to perform, just to build one true piece of a world they chose.
A NOTE FOR PARENTS
The Curators Club runs for 6 weeks at Found Bookshop, five build sessions followed by a showcase night on November 10th at 5:30pm where your Curator's finished world goes on display. Each pair works on one book from start to finish, so your child isn't just reading, they're planning, problem-solving, and building alongside a partner every week. No experience needed, no supplies to buy, and no pressure to be the strongest reader in the room. Every child leaves the program having built something real and been named a Curator in front of people who care about them.
